§ 9.10.150. Hazardous material.

  • A.

    "Hazardous material" means any material or combination of materials which, because of its quantity, concentration or physical, chemical or infectious characteristics, may either:

    1.

    Cause or significantly contribute to an increase in mortality or an increase in serious irreversible, or incapacitating reversible, illness; or

    2.

    Pose a substantial present or potential hazard to human health or environment when improperly treated, stored, transported or disposed of or otherwise managed.

    B.

    Hazardous material includes hazardous wastes as defined under California or United States law or any regulations promulgated pursuant to such law, as such law or regulations may from time to time be amended.
