§ 13.40.050. Eastgate Annexation Nos. 2, 3 and 4; Orchard No. 1; Cottage Grove Annexation District No. 1 and No. 3; and Willow Glen District.
A.
The scheme or plan for numbering houses and street entrances to buildings in those portions of the city annexed June 13, 1946, July 12, 1946, and January 10, 1947, and designated Eastgate Annexation No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4; that portion annexed July 7, 1939, and designated Orchard No. 1; that portion annexed May 27, 1930, and designated Cottage Grove Annexation District No. 1; that portion annexed December 1, 1947, and designated Cottage Grove District No. 3; and that portion formerly the city of Willow Glen, prepared by the city engineer of the City of San José and filed in the office of the city clerk, with a duplicate filed with the building inspector, department of building, on the fourth day of May, 1948, and entitled: "Supplemental Official Street Number Map of the City of San José, Eastgate Annexation No. 2, June 13, 1946, No. 3, July 12, 1946, and No. 4, Jan. 10, 1947"; "Supplemental Official Street Number Map of the City of San José, Orchard No. 1, annexed July 7, 1939"; "Supplemental Official Street Number Map of the City of San José, Cottage Grove Annexation District No. 1, annexed May 27, 1930, and Annexation District No. 3 annexed Dec. 1, 1947"; and "Street Number Map, City of San José, Willow Glen District," is hereby continued as a part of the official street number map.
B.
All street entrances to buildings and exterior doors to houses fronting on or facing any street in Eastgate shall be numbered to correspond with the prorated numbers of the block, section or division of street frontage upon which it fronts as shown by the aforesaid street number map.
C.
Eastgate Map. A duplicate copy of the official street number map of the territory embracing Eastgate shall be kept in the office of the building department, and it shall, upon the application of the owner or occupant of any house or building in said portion of the city, furnish him with a memorandum of the correct numbers of each of its street entrances, after said owner or occupant has furnished said building department with a correct description of the property built upon.
D.
Entrance Numbers Required. All entrances from streets to houses or buildings shall be numbered and no person, whether owner or occupant of the house or building, shall maintain any number other than the one allotted by the provisions of this chapter. The number placed upon any entrance shall be at least one and three-quarter inches in height and of a width in proportion.
